Striving to improve the welfare of rural people in Mukono District, the Christian Churches of Kyetume Parish formed Kyetume Community Based Health Care Programme (Kyetume CBHC) in 1994.
Since then, the organization has promoted initiatives focused on advancing the health, welfare, and socioeconomic development of the community.
The Kyetume CBHC team is comprised of doctors, nurses, counselors, program officers, and administrative staff who are dedicated to serving their community.
We operate on the integrated community-based health care model which aims to provide services targeted at ensuring the holistic welfare of individuals and communities..
KCBHCP’s health programming, aligned with SDGs 3, 5, and 10, addresses maternal and child health, nutrition, communicable and non-communicable diseases, injury prevention, health promotion, and disease prevention. The organization empowers community health workers, strengthens health systems, and advances clinical and social research to improve service delivery and contribute to Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
In education, KCBHCP supports SDGs 4 and 8 by offering scholarships for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), vocational and life skills training, teacher support, and institutional capacity strengthening. The program emphasizes inclusive and equitable access to education, particularly for marginalized learners.
KCBHCP’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programs contribute to SDGs 6 and 3 by improving access to safe water and sanitation, promoting hygiene practices, ensuring climate-resilient infrastructure, and engaging stakeholders to reduce disease and environmental health risks.
In agriculture, the organization aligns with SDGs 2, 5, and 13, focusing on improving productivity, market access, sustainable land and water use, and transitioning from subsistence to commercial farming. These efforts promote food security and climate resilience.
