The Brave Allies Movement is a growing family of passionate community members working together to promote and protect sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for everyone; especially young people and women of reproductive age. Guided by the belief that lasting change starts at the community level, the movement envisions a world where everyone can access SRHR information, services, and products with dignity, safety, and equality. Based at Kyetume CBHCP in Mukono, Uganda, Brave Allies welcomes individuals, organizations, mentors, and donors to join in building a stronger, more connected network for healthier communities.
We do this by meeting people where they are. Through community mobilization, we host barazas, open dialogues, “Beyond the Classroom” events, and creative media outreach to get important SRHR conversations going. We also focus on capacity building, training teachers, youth leaders, and health workers to become champions for better health and rights in their communities. Our referral systems connect people to SRHR service providers, mentors, and partners, ensuring that no one is left without access to care or support. And through campaigns celebrating days like World Contraception Day, Menstrual Hygiene Management Day, and International Youth Day, we bring energy and awareness to key moments that matter.
Our main focus area is Uganda’s Eastern region. Covering Busoga, Bugisu, Bukedi, and Teso where access to SRHR services is still a big challenge. By working closely with teachers, youth advocates, libraries, and service providers, we aim to close the gaps in information and coordination. Together, we’re creating a stronger foundation for change, ensuring that young people, especially, have the tools and opportunities they need to live healthy, empowered lives.
The Brave Allies Movement believes that real progress happens when communities unite behind a common vision. By building a coordinated network of partners and advocates, we strengthen everyone’s ability to demand better policies, higher-quality services, and equal access to SRHR information and products. With the help of digital tools and data-driven advocacy, we’re also making it easier for communities to track their progress, learn from each other, and amplify their voices.
At its heart, the movement is about resilience, learning, and connection. Our theory of change is simple yet powerful: when communities work together, they can create lasting impact. Through advocacy, training, innovation, and collaboration, the Brave Allies Movement continues to inspire action and hope, ensuring that every voice counts, every partnership matters, and every person can live with dignity and choice.
